Hair Follicle Drug Testing: Is it Right for You?

0

How to pass a hair follicle drug test for cocaine? Hair follicle drug testing is a technique that provides a more thorough test than urine or blood tests. The results of hair follicle drug testing are considered more accurate than those obtained using other methods. However, hair follicle drug testing also has disadvantages over other methods, and it is important to recognize the risks and benefits of this testing option before you submit a hair follicle drug test.

Hair follicle drug testing can be the most accurate and thorough way to test for drug use. Hair follicle drug testing is not entirely foolproof, however, and there are several limitations to the test.

Vital to the success of the test

Hair follicles, which are found within the hair shaft, are the only way to test for the use of drugs such as cocaine, amphetamines, barbiturates, and opiates, including heroin. The hair follicle acts as a mini-liver that eliminates waste products from the bloodstream.

Hair follicles contain the same chemicals found in the blood and can absorb substances from the bloodstream. During the test, the follicles are taken from the hair shafts. The follicles are then incubated for a period of time, ranging from 2 to 3 weeks.

During this incubation period, the follicles will absorb the substances from the bloodstream and the drugs they contain will be stored in the follicle itself. The body will then eliminate the body wastes from the follicle and a small sample of the follicle will be expelled from the body.

Drug testing with hair follicles

Hair follicle drug testing is a complicated process because it requires the use of enzymes and chemicals in the test. The first step in the process involves the use of a razor to remove the hair shaft. The follicle is then soaked in an enzyme solution to increase the amount of drug available for testing.

The follicle is then incubated in a chemical solution for a set amount of time. At the end of the incubation period, the follicle is expelled from the body. The test is considered positive if the follicle contains drugs in the blood at the beginning of the incubation period.

The results of hair follicle drug testing are considered as accurate as blood tests. They are less accurate when the drug is administered orally than when the drug is taken intravenously, however. This is because the follicles absorb the drug before they are expelled from the body.

After the test is completed, the hair shaft is placed in a solution that destroys the follicle, and the hair will soon fall out.
